We have a very exciting and busy term planned! Please check back regularly to see photos and videos of our learning in actions! 

 

๐Ÿ“– English- We use 'key texts' to support our writing and grammar skills. Our first text will be .   

 

โž• Maths- We follow the White Rose programme of study. This term we learn: Place value- to read, write and understand numbers to 10,000,00, negative numbers, round any number; Four Operations; Fractions- add, subtract, multiply and divide, compare and convert between mixed number and improper; Converting Measurements.  

 

๐Ÿงช Science- We complete one unit per half term. Autumn 1 - Light and Autumn 2 - Electricity 

 

๐ŸŽจ Art - Taught during the first half term is portrait drawing inspired by Artist Frida Kahlo.

 

โœ‚๏ธ D&T - Taught during the second half term is electrical systems involving circuits and switches to make a Steady Hand Game. 

 

๐Ÿ’ป Computing - We will be learning about Networks and Computer Systems are used for collaboration and how to create webpage. We take part in regular online safety quizzes to help refine our knowledge and designs our program of study based on knowledge gaps identified. 

 

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ MFL- We study Spanish from Year 3. This term we will learn how to present information about ourself and our families.

 

๐Ÿ‘ PE -  Year 6 have 2 PE lessons a week taught by B2 coaching. Autumn 2 will focus on hockey and gymnastics.

 

๐ŸŽถ Music- This will be taught by Mr Proctor on a Tuesday. We follow the Love Music Trust curriculum building on knowledge gained in previous years.  

 

๐Ÿงก PHSE- We follow the No Outsiders program, this involves teaching children about relationships in modern society through the use of stories. We will also learn about mental and physical wellbeing, linking this to our emotional literacy and PE knowledge.
