Summer
We have a very exciting and busy term planned! Please check back regularly to see photos and videos of our learning in actions!
π English- We use 'key texts' to support our writing and grammar skills. Our first text will be Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell.
β Maths- We follow the White Rose programme of study. This term we learn: Shape, Position and Direction and Statistics.
π§ͺ Science- We complete one unit per half term. Summer 1 - Living things and their habitats and Summer 2 - Evolution and Inheritance.
π¨ Art - Taught during the first half term is focused on pattern, printing and collage. We will be creating works of art inspired by sweets!
βοΈ D&T - Taught during the second half term is food and nutrition. We will be making an afternoon tea to share!
π» Computing - We will be learning about Programming using Scratch and 3D modelling using CAD. We take part in regular online safety quizzes to help refine our knowledge and designs our program of study based on knowledge gaps identified.
πͺπΈ MFL- We study Spanish from Year 3. This term we will learn to talk about what we do at the weekends.
π PE - Year 6 have 2 PE lessons a week taught by B2 coaching.
πΆ Music- This will be taught by Mr Proctor on a Tuesday. We follow the Love Music Trust curriculum building on knowledge gained in previous years.
π§‘ PHSE- We follow the No Outsiders program, this involves teaching children about relationships in modern society through the use of stories. We will also learn about mental and physical wellbeing, linking this to our emotional literacy and PE knowledge.
