New Starter Evening

School Starting Age

If your child was born between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018, they will be eligible to start school in September 2022.

Most children will start school in the September, after they are 4 years old. Children reach compulsory school age at the start of the term after their 5th birthday. If you wish to delay your child starting school, you must contact Cheshire East Council directly.  

You will need to apply for your child's school place in the September, the year before they are due to start.

1st September 2021 - Applications process opens

15th January 2022 - Applications closing date - any applications made after this date, may be disadvantaged.

19th April 2022 - Allocated school place offers will be sent out to parents

3rd May 2022 - Deadline for parent/carer to accept or refuse the place offered

18th May 2022 - Deadline for appealed applications
