Every child achieves because we care



Our topic in Autumn 1 will be WW2. The children will learn about key events during this historical period before conducting a more in-depth study into the Holocaust. See our project plan for more information. 

We are reading ‘Star of Fear, Star of Hope’ to develop our writing linked to both the text and our topic, World War 2.

Physical Education 

During PE, we are developing our football skills with Mr Guildford. We also have a second PE session to develop our competition skills, this lesson is a joint lesson with Year 5 & 6. 

PE takes place on Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon. The children come to school wearing their PE kits. 

The school football team require their football trainers on Thursday afternoon for tournament training. 

Religious Education


We are learning about Judaism to support our learning about World War 2. We have learnt what Judaism is, why they have a Torah and where they worship. We completed our own responses to demonstrate our understanding. We also explore artefacts to support our learning. 



We developed our sketching and shading skills. We created images of war time soldiers.



We have chosen to teach Spanish as our whole school Modern Foreign Language. We have been learning the days of the week and the months of the year. We created games to help us to practice this new knowledge. We have also been learning colours. 

Maths Week


We are spending the week doing lots of Maths across the whole school. In Year 6, we have been learning about coordinates and translating shapes. We also applied our knowledge of a range of maths skills to ‘Escape the Maths Room’.
